B2 Production Diary

Image
Before producing my series of print adverts, I took 3 individual images of different locations around Sunderland. These locations were Penshaw Monument, Fulwell Mill and Roker Pier. I decided that I wanted to gather all of my images on the same day (19/03/2022). I had already developed a shooting schedule during the post production process.   Roker Pier: 10:00-11:00 Penshaw Monument: 13:00-14:00 Fulwell Mill: 16:00-17:00 The equipment that I used was very basic and simplistic. To take my images I used the back facing camera on the Samsung S20 FE smartphone. The raw images that this phone took were of a very high quality despite no extra settings being used. Here are some of the raw images taken: You can see here that I experimented with different camera angles and positions

B2 Post production diary

During the beginning stages of creating my first print ad, I begun with this very simple draft. It features a picture that I took of Roker Pier with the the short text that reads 'Regional Identity' in the default Photoshop font, 'Arial'.  In the image shown above, I have experimented with a different font as well as adding a border around the edges of the print. While experimenting with my print ad, I decided to try an overlay by choosing a sun image from google and pasting it onto my Photoshop project.  I experimented with the 'Linear Dodge (add)' blending mode in 'Layers' These were some of the responses that I received on my feedback form This feedback told me that the improvements that I needed to make involved playing around with the colours and balance, making the font more clear as well as making the shine less bright. I also experimented with another overlay. This is another example of a light overlay that I imported from Google. I resized it to...

B2 Final product and feedback

Image
After acting on the feedback for my draft product, this was my final product. Here is some of the feedback that I received on my final product. After acting on the feedback that I was given, here is the final product. When reflecting upon the feedback, I can see that 66.7% of people believed that my Final Product was an improvement from my draft product.  As you can see, I have adjusted the brightness of the image as this was the main topic of criticism that I received. In addition to this, I added the Sunderland Culture logo.

B2 Rough draft feedback

While experimenting with my print ad, I decided to try an overlay by choosing a sun image from google and pasting it onto my photoshop project.  I experimented with the 'Linear Dodge (add)' blending mode in 'Layers' I also attempted to think of a tagline for my print ad. These were some of the responses that I received on my feedback form This feedback tells me that the improvements that I need to make involve playing around with the colours and balance, making the font more clear as well as making the shine less bright. I also experimented with another overlay. This is another example of a light overlay that I imported from Google. I resized it to my liking and then, proceeded to adjust the opacity. After acting upon the feedback I was given this was my final product.  These were the responses that I received for my other two draft products.
